FIRST PICS: Apple launches New iPad

It's official, Apple has just launched the "New iPad." Yes, that's what it's called... not "iPad 3" like we were all thinking. Just "New iPad." Kind of weird. Anyway, here's what it looks like and the improvements it just got. For amateur photographers who like using iPhoto, you're going to love the New iPad as Apple says it was specifically designed to "create" and work great for photo editing.

List of improvements include:

  • A better processor, the A5X
  • Retina Display just like the iPhone 4S
  • Voice dictation
  • Improved 5MP camera.
  • Slightly thicker and heavier than the iPad 2. 8.8mm goes up to 9.4mm and 1.3lb to 1.4 lb.
  • PRICE: Starting at $499. (the iPad 2's will go on sales starting at $399.)

The "New iPad" will be available starting March 16th.
